Planning and Tasking Operator

About the position
As a Planning and Tasking Operator you will be part of the operations team. You will be helping a multidisciplinary team of professionals distributed in Spain and Argentina operating the Satellogic's planning and tasking system: A software to submit orders for our satellite fleet and find the best plan for each satellite, fulfilling at the same time, geographic, timing and physical restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key link between operations and engineering. You will be responsible for identifying and escalating recurring system issues and operational inefficiencies to the planning and tasking development team, helping to shape future improvements.
- Drive operational insights through data analysis. You'll analyze data from our satellite fleet to run constellation simulations, assess the viability of new services, and evaluate mission-specific constraints to optimize overall performance.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of our planning services. This includes actively testing, maintaining, and providing support for our backend and REST APIs.
- Enhance system monitoring and observability. You'll be instrumental in building out automated alarms and dashboards to proactively monitor system health and performance.
- Be a go-to resource for support. You will provide both internal and external support, helping users and stakeholders get the most out of our planning systems.
Location
Remote work from anywhere between UTC-5 and UTC+3 time zones. Satellogic’s office locations include Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Montevideo, Barcelona.
About you
Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of experience in software engineering skills in Python/Django.
Skills
Experience with Python testing frameworks.
Familiarity with the DevOps culture, ‘cause “we build it, we run it”.
Experience designing and developing back-end systems and API services.
Purpose driven and results oriented.
Fluent in English.
Good communication skills, open minded and teamwork player.
