About Satellogic
Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth Observation satellite and data company. We design, manufacture, and operate our own fleet of satellites, the Aleph-1 constellation, which delivers high-frequency, high-resolution imagery plus full-motion video.
Earth Observation imagery and data are key to monitoring change at scale, informing critical decisions, and ultimately helping solve the world’s most pressing problems. Our mission is to democratize access to this information, making it affordable and available for those who need it across a wide range of industries, from climate monitoring and agriculture, to energy, infrastructure and many more. We want to do our part in building a world where every organization is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
With a team of around 150 employees spanning 5 countries, Satellogic is a diverse group of purpose-driven professionals across software development, satellite engineering, operations, data science, manufacturing, and sales. We are excited to welcome team members who push the limits, get things done, and never stop learning—all while being humble, honest, and empathetic.
About the team
Our Structural Engineering team is responsible for the design, analysis, and verification of the satellite's structural systems. This includes ensuring the structural integrity of the spacecraft during launch and in-orbit operations, managing loads, and optimizing for mass and stiffness.
The team works at the intersection of structural design, analysis, and testing, collaborating closely with the Mechanical and Thermal teams to deliver high-performance, space-qualified hardware. From early-stage concept design through to final integration and vibration testing, we take a hands-on approach to engineering, ensuring our systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with the company's production and mission timelines.
Key responsibilities of the team include:
- Definition of structural spacecraft requirements, verification & validation plans.
- Designing structural components and assemblies, including primary and secondary structures, and mechanisms.
- Developing detailed structural models and performing simulations using industry-standard software (NASTRAN compatible softwares).
- Defining structural interfaces and ensuring proper integration with other satellite subsystems.
- Working closely with mechanical and thermal teams to ensure proper system integration and manufacturability.
- Supporting manufacturing and AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) teams during integration and vibration testing of the satellites.
- Continuously improving structural design methodologies and product reliability based on flight heritage and manufacturing feedback.
We value engineers who combine technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a strong attention to detail. The work we do has a direct impact on mission success—and we're looking for people who are ready to make that impact.
The team is always learning and trying to push the limits, relying in part on the large diversity of people’s profiles and backgrounds.
